Pera Piano Competition Specification Between Ages 17-21
- Pera Piano Competition will be realized between 29-30 April 2010. (1st period on 29 April 2010 Thursday, 2nd period on 30 April 2010 Friday)
- The candidates between age 17-21 can participate to the competition.
- The candidates must convey the Application Form to Pera Fine Arts High School by hand or by post by 14 March 2010. It is compulsory to convey the documents required in the Competition Form (2 snapshots, a photocopy of the identity card, the notes of Works which will be played)
- It is compulsory to play the works from memory
- It is compulsory that the competitors appear on scene with concert costume
- The list of the competitors will be published on www.perafestival.org website since 01 April 2010.
- It is compulsory that the candidates who will participate to the competition are registered on registration desk at least 1 hour before the competition time communicated to them.
- It’s definitely forbidden to take photos and take voice recording during the competition.
- The competitors who take grade will display a performance of 5-10 minutes in the award ceremony.
- The participation fee for the competition is 50 TL. (The participants must deposit the participation fee by 16 April 2010 to the account of Pera Fine Arts Akbank/Taksim 067 Branch Code number 25511.
- Utmost 25 minutes will be given to each participant for the first period.
- In case of time-out of the competition the Jury has the authority to stop the competition.
- The decision of the Competition Jury shall not be subjected to criticism.
* PRIZES :
The competitors who take grade will be awarded with monetary award.

1st PERIOD
1) a)J.S.Bach : 1 Prelude and Fugue (from 48 Preludes and Fugues) or 3 movements from Suit (English and French) or Partitas
Example: Allemande, Sarabande, Gigue.
b) D. Shostakovich : 1 Prelude and Fugue (from 24 Preludes and Fugues )
NOTE : One of the options will be chosen between above mentioned options a or b.
2) The whole of classical sonata or variations.
a) J. Haydn : Valid sonatas Hob XVI No: 18-42 44-46 48-52
b) W.A Mozart KV 545 hariç
c) W.A. Mozart : except KV 545 L.van Beethoven : except Op: 49 No: 1,2 , Op.79
The time is utmost 25 minutes.
2nd PERIOD
1) 1 virtuoso etude : Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Debussy, A. Saygun (except slow etudes)
2) Work from Romantic period or 20th century composer.
3) Work from Turkish Composer
NOTE : The time is limited with utmost 20 minutes in 2nd period.
